A LOVE SONG FOR YOU

 I took a chance and loved you; I didn’t think I might,
But you took hold of my heart, in the wee small hours of the night.

I didn’t want to trust you, you were a world away
But now you’re near to being here, I know I’ll let you stay.

I need to hear “I love you”, spoken softly in my ear.
You sing a song so gently, so close, that I can hear.

I might not know all of your words, I’m caught up in the feeling,
But I want you here in my heart, of this I am so willing.

You gave me what I wanted, to believe feelings could be real,
I want to trust my loving you, my heart so wants to feel.

So come to me, my Love, and fold me in your warmth,
For I have found a Heaven, held closely in your arms.
