5 San Marcos residents who went to Mexico in November still missing

The FBI is looking for five San Marcos residents who have been missing in Mexico since Nov. 27.

Some are employees of a San Marcos concrete company who went to pick up a work-related vehicle in Laredo, said Erik Vasys, an FBI special agent.

The missing people are Luis Hernandez, Carlos Ortega, Nicolas Munoz, Ricardo Gomez and 14-year-old Giovanni Gomez, KVUE-TV reported.

The group crossed the Texas-Mexico border into Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, on Nov. 27 for what was supposed to be a one-day trip. They haven't been heard from since, Vasys said.

He said authorities are treating the disappearances as missing persons cases. U.S. and Mexican authorities are cooperating in the investigation, Vasys said.

"We are aggressively pursuing every lead," he said.
