We were childhood friends

Looking ahead at life

One wanting a Husband

The other a Wife

We waited patiently

For many, many years

For one true love

Through many shed tears

Travelling through life

We learned on the way

What love should be

And how far we'd strayed

I had thought of you often

And the chances I'd passed

You were the only possibility

Of true love that could last

But it was too late

I'd travelled too far

But then there you were

And now, here you are

Life's moved full circle

The timing finally right

My dream's to hold you

For the rest of your life

Who would have thought

In the search of a love so true

That when the timing was right

It was always you
